The Art of Racing in the Rain ...

It is rare that I do not have a stack of books on my bed table. I had heard through the grapevine that The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein was a delightful book to read. I reserved this book at my local library a few months ago. I was surprised when my librarian gave me this book while I was checking out other books last week. I had totally forgotten I had reserved this book. I almost said to put my name back on the waiting list but I am so happy I took this one home. I can't begin to say enough good things about The Art of Racing in the Rain. If you like dogs, racing cars, and like to laugh out loud, then you need to read this feel good book. If you enjoyed reading Marley & Me you will also enjoy this book.

This book had me hooked after the first chapter. It is a fast read and one that you will want to pass along to your friends. It is so refreshing to read this amazing story and escape for a few hours from the paces of our every day lives. So run, don't walk, to your local library and reserve your copy. I always say that a book is a gift you give to yourself. The benefit is that it contains no calories unless you just happen to have a pint of Ben & Jerry's in your fridge.
Enjoy!

  10. Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I haven't heard of this book, but I'm a huge dog lover! We have three, in addition to two cats. Did you see their pictures on my sidebar? They are my loves, even though I call them "The Beasts"

I added this to my list of books to pick up at the library. It sounds just like something I would love. Thanks!

  12. I keep picking this book up at the bookstore, then put it down. I loved Marley and Me - I'm just not sure I'm ready for another dog tearjerker! We almost lost our dog last year to cancer. I think when my (emotional) wounds heal a bit more, I'll be ready to read this book!
