Rolo Turtles...

After my fiasco in the kitchen this week with my KA mixer I thought I should take the Sandra Lee approach to baking in my kitchen today. Take a small waffle shaped pretzel, place a Rolo candy on top with a nut and bake at 350 for 3-4 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack and push the nut down being careful not to burn your finger. Walla! A chocolate turtle. Pop one in your mouth after cooling. Simple and delicious! This is a wonderful treat that your children can help with. If nuts are an issue you can top each candy with a red or green M&M instead.

  1. Ooh sweetie...
Does this ever sound good. I am buying some pretzels and rolos today and going to give it a try. The grandkids are coming tomorrow and it would make a nice treat. How did they store in a container once they had cooled?

Thanks agina for the tip. Please stop by and say hi. I love to share. Country hugs, Sherry

  9. Hi Joyce,
First - wow those sound so easy and delish!! I know my girls will want to whip some up tomorrow as I struggle with stringing the lights on the 12' tree we just jammed through our front door into the house. What was I thinking, why do I do this to myself every year? Oh ya, it's FUN.

Second - your kitchen disasters made me laugh, sorry! But, yes, I have definitely had days like that, I can share stories....I think your solution to leave the kitchen for the rest of the day was perfect.

Third - and most important - a huge thank you for the nice comments about my site, I appreciate it so much. It means a lot to me that you would recommend Heart and Home to your readers, and I am so grateful you are a follower!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
    XO
