I baked pies all week to give to my neighbors. I decided a few years ago that I would bake in the Fall for friends and neighbors which would give me more time to spend with my own family during December. So many people ask me my pie secrets and honestly I do not have any that are out of the norm. I thought I would share the following information with you from allrecipes.com HERE concerning a perfect pie crust. I hope you find it helpful in baking your holiday pies.
Happy Thanksgiving

Beautiful pie! What a lovely idea to bake at Thanksgiving :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Your pie is beautiful. It took me years to find the right crust recipe that worked for me but once I did this chick is a pie makin' maching! Now I'm cravin' apple pie.
ReplyDeleteHave the best weekend filled with blessings and the time to enjoy them. :o)
Yep...like Nezzy, I HAVE to have some apple pie. I use my aunt's crust recipe and it never fails...
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving
Oh gee, I am a bit intimidated by pie crusts and perhaps why I stay clear of them. I've yet to find a biscuit recipe that I love. Goes to show you I cannot be called 100% Southern until I master the lot!
ReplyDeleteWhy oh, why are you showing up in font size about 92? ya got enlarged for some reason on my site, well your blog print and pictures are enlarged. not necessarily you. :)
ReplyDelete*sigh* I can barely even manage the FROZEN crusts -- I envy those who can bake...my mother made a delectable "ice water crust" but cooking skills skipped a generation on me...
ReplyDeleteI love to bake and I especially love to make desserts. Pies are my favorite!!! What a great idea to bake in the fall for friends. I'll have to remember that idea. Things get so hectic at Christmas. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteThose pies make me drool! I have to say, I envy your neighbors!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the recipe. What a grand idea to bake for loved ones at Thanksgiving before the hustle & bustle of Christmas sets in. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour pies look wonderful and it is so nice that you make them for your neighbors! I used to do homemade crusts but now I never have time. The rolled refrigerated crusts are really pretty good, much better than the frozen ones. Of course, if he gets a good pie, Pa never complains about the crust; he's too busy enjoying it! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi Joyce!
ReplyDeleteSorry it took me so long to get this to you, we took turns at the flu at my house and then I was out of town for a week (with no cell or wyfi!) I very much enjoyed getting to meet you at lunch a few weeks ago and the cookies were amazing! Thanks so much for sharing! Have a great Thanksgiving!

Your pies are beautiful! I wouldn't mind geting one of those! I'm kind of afraid to make pies. What a wonderful idea to give as gifts to friends. Have a nice Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift to your friends....I know they look forward to your wonderful pies!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a yummy delish blog :o)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments on my china...much appreciated.
Blessings
I used to make a mean pie crust .. my BFF's late MIL taught me .. this year, as I have for the last many, I am not baking (no surprises there) I bought an apple and a pumpkin pie for desert .. we're (ToonMan, the sister and I) having pizza for Thanksgiving and I will be thankful I do not have to stress over re-heating pre-cooked traditional food
