Bake for the troops...

I just wanted to remind everyone out there that there is still time to go to BakingGals.com and sign up for another round of cookie baking for our troops stationed over seas. If you would like to join please head over HERE.

It is simple. You join up and then join a sub group where you will be given the name and address of an American hero. You bake some cookies and pack them up. Mail them from the post office in a flat rate box for a military discount. Fill out a customs form and when they arrive they will be sure to make a platoon of young men and women SMILE to think they are remembered for all their hard works and sacrifices.

  5. What a great thing to do Joyce.... I am going to have to look into this. I bet around the Holidays they get a lot of cookies but after Christmas is over....we seem to forget to do something for those who protect our country.

  8. I shipped out 6 dozen Oatmeal Raisin cookies, 5 dozen Peanut Butter cookies, and about 150 servings of Starbucks Via coffee yesterday. I joined Team Baking for our Troops this month. :)

  10. Joyce, I know they'll loooove your cookies if they're anywhere as good as your Irish soda bread. Thanks so much...it was delicious. Hubby devoured it and that is a guy that doesn't usually eat anything with raisins in it. You are so nice to share your love of baking with us all!
