Flu shot...

I pulled up my big girl undies this morning and decided to bite the bullet and get my flu shot.

You have no idea how I was pacing and fretting and sweating and working myself up into a complete and utter frenzy!

I felt fine and then the itching started in my arm.

"Oh not a good thing" the nurse said.

She said to go home and take some benedryl.

To think I actually paid money to make myself sick!

* I like to give credit where credit is due.
The photo was a free photo online as I don't have a clothes line.

  2. Oh Miss Joyce...I hope the Benedryl works! Bless your heart♥
Love the clothesline with the 'big-girl panties'.
Remember the cotton ones with the eyelet trim around the legs???
    Feel better, sweet girl!

    Hugs,
    Lynn♥

  3. I hope the benadryl stopped the itching and that you are much better. I am in a quandry about whether to get the shot or not.

  4. Well hopefully that was all you'll get! The year before last, I got my flu shot two days before Thanksgiving and I got sick. Plus I still had to cook! No more shots for me!

Do you live close by? I live in Smyrna. We were fortunate with that whole bad weather mess and didn't get any damage beyond some minor damage to our vegetable gardens.

    Hope you don't get sick!

  6. Flu jbs don't hurt! You're supposed to be 65 in this country to qualify but I get one because of my disability. Hubby (65 next month) is about to get his first one.

    Go on - don't be a wimp!

    love, Angie, xx

  7. Quit y'r complaining now, Joyce. You know that shot is much easier than having the flu and you can't afford to spread it to your cute little grandsons. Just bake something sinfully good and eat two helpings. That's bound to make you feel all better!

  8. Hope you are better!!! I have gotten the shot for years and never had a problem/makes you feel good uh?

  12. G'day and thank you for dropping in :) HaHa funny photo. Any needles in me no thank you, do not want to even think about them, I use natural remedies and some aspro clear sometimes. I have not had a cold/flu in a very long time :). Anyways to answer your question. With Picasa, you select your pictures, they are displayed on the bottom left, then you click the green pin and it will hold the picture there for you and you continue add pics that way. Then clik collage. Select Frame Mosaic. I choose Page Format 5x8 and Portrait. I hope that helps. :) cya

  16. Hopefully the itching is nothing and the Benadryl lets you have a good nap. In my book, anything beats the flu.

Have a great day and nite-nite!!!

I fasted during Yom Kippur for us all, so go forth and sin, you have a clean slate!

  18. Glad you got your flu shot. It is a mandatory thing for all of us that are over 50!

  19. Hi Joyce, a have had the flu shot a few times and it always seems to be worth it as soon as you see how sick people who actually catch the flu get. I haven’t had a shot for a few years, with kids and moving country, but I caught the flu at Christmas and was sick for eight weeks. Believe me I wish I had taken a leaf out of you book and put on my big girl panties. I hope you recover from the shot soon.

  20. Of course I actually meant that'I' have had the flu shot - just goes to show you should read what you write more carefully BEFORE you hit the 'Post A Comment' button of no return :)

  21. I'm to chicken to get a flu shot. I'm 40 years old and never got one. I'm not sure if I'll get the H1N1 flu shot either when it comes out. But I hope your feeling better.

  24. Good job finding the undies picture, I had to laugh about you pulling up your big girl undies.

I hope your flu shot reaction goes away. We got ours a couple of weeks ago and had no problems. My sister swears she get sick every time she gets a flu shot.

  25. Nice to visit your blog! I'm living dangerously and not getting a flu shot! I had the flu only once when my now 32 year old son was 3.

  26. P.S. I have that saying on a napkin that I framed! I love it.

  27. Really - who hangs clothes on a line these days? But I do miss it. They smelt so good especially sheets. Hope the itching goes away and your not drowsy from the benedyrl since your going on that field trip with 50 toddlers. You will need to be wide awake and alert!! You're a brave soul!

  28. I always get my shot, cause I work with the elderly in long term care homes. My secret to a successful "shot" is - as soon as they give it, I gently rub my arm. And, keep doing that off and on every 10 minutes or so for the next hour. Very seldom has it ever been sore the next day and never have gotten sick. You might try it - it works for me. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment about my stained glass mosaic. I'm having a giveaway, don't know if you noticed or not!

  29. Well, I have been thinking about getting a flu shot, too. I probably will, but I am sure if anyone is going to have a fatal reaction it would be me!!! Thank you for stopping by for a cup of tea at Bunny Cottage. Please do join us for Tea Things Tuesday!! Vicki

  31. Be glad you DID get your flu shot, Joyce!
Dh & I failed to make time for them this year & we have BOTH been down with the flu for over a week now. UGH! Its awful! We haven't been this sick in over 20 years.

I hope the Benadryl took care of the itchy arm but if that's all you get, count your blessings. I wouldn't wish this on my ex-husband! LOL

  32. Hi Joyce, I went Thursday and got mine. I usually don't, but this year I just didn't want to take a chance. You'll be mad when you hear this, but I actually forgot I had had mine, my arm wasn't even sore. go figure. Thanks so much for your sweet comments and support during the give-away. You are greatly appreciated!

  33. In answer to Miss Marsha inquiry...my neighbor and Martha Stewart are still using their clothes lines. I've used my neighbors for drying oversized quilts. I must admit the fresh crisp smell is a bit intoxicating. Although contary to my neighbors and Martha's belief, I think the sheets come out feeling starchy/stiff.
Yup, give me fabric softner and a heavy duty dryer anyday.

OUCH! I don't do shots unless they're court mandated!!

    Sweet wishes,
    Sara
