Kids of all ages celebrate the 4th of July here on Hilton Head by participating in the annual parade. This year "Mr. Vundervants" was excited to decorate his bike. Of course we had to hype the event up in our house with "Mr. Vundervants" for a full week. We all crossed our fingers that he would actually participate when the big day arrived.
First we decorated his bike helmet with pipe cleaners and stars.
Next we took coffee filters and had "Mr. Vundervants" paint them with markers and spray them with water. We took pipe cleaners and some tape and made them into flowers and attached them to the bike.
The result was one happy "Mr. Vundervants" participating in his first parade!
We will celebrate the 4th of July by spending the day on the beach and having a BBQ. Later tonight we will view the fireworks with "Mr. Vundervants" if we can keep him awake that long. We have been experiencing temperatures in the mid 80s here all weekend with NO humidity so this 4th of July has been perfect. I hope you all have a perfect 4th of July celebration with family and friends.

ReplyDeleteHi Joyce! I just love that bike helmet and decorated bike...what fun! That looked like a wonderfully patriotic parade!! So are you close to Parris Island? My daughter and I are flying to Savannah to head to Parris Island for a Marine Boot Camp graduation the end of September. I've been researching where to stay, etc. We made reservations at The Rhett Inn because it seemed to be "Southern" and I wanted to get a Southern Experience since this will be my first time ever in the South!! If you know of any good southern restaurant that we shouldn't miss I'd appreciate a heads up. :0)
