I am back to blogging again on the my new computer. I was able to save some files and some photos thankfully. It is amazing how we all have come to depend upon our computers.
We took a quick trip down to the beach house to get it ready for the summer months. We had some friends come down to join us for the weekend and the weather was glorious. I had my first walk of the 2010 season to wiggle my toes in the warm sand and to dip my toes in the blue waters of the Atlantic ocean. Lots of folks in the water but it was a bit too cold for me to take the full body plunge just yet. Our little area of the beach was quiet and calm before the tourist season officially begins on Memorial day.
There are many trees along the dock draped with Spanish moss that twist and turn toward the ocean as they grow. I love to ride my bike to the docks after dinner and enjoy the sunset views.
Here I am with my friend Joyce this weekend. Yes we are the "Two Joyce's". It gets very confusing when our husbands call out our names. It sounds like stereo with both of us answering. We met a few years ago on a tour to Italy with our husbands. Joyce is a fun and easy house guest and loves the beach as much as I do. I think that Joyce was a mermaid in a previous life as she jumps right into the ocean no matter what the temperature. She makes the most delicious chocolate covered pretzels but we ate them all before I remembered to take a photo.
I invite you to follow along with me this summer as I share more Hilton Head Island, S.C. photos as well as the surrounding areas of this magical island.
Hooray, she's back! And a new computer too..wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great..wish I were there, LOL..
Yes, quiet here before the influx starts Memorial Day. Chilly too.
So glad you are up and running again!
Joyce-What a good picture. Isn't it funny how you can just "connect" with someone and they become a part your lives? I have never been to Hilton Head, but have always wanted to go. I love the beach and could stay there all summer. We have been going to Destin for the last 30+ years but are trying a smaller place further down this year. I look forward to your pictures. Glad you got a new computer. I hate being so dependent on them, but it is just a fact of life :)
ReplyDeleteI would have to be surgically removed from my computer!
ReplyDeleteMay a poor Englishwoman who doesn't know any better ask a little question? Is this the Same Hilton Head that Patricia Cornwell mentions a lot in her books?
You two Joyces are just too darn cute. It's looks like double trouble to me! Heeehehehe!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of Spanish moss hangin' from the trees, we don't get that 'round these parts.Your pics are just great. I'm so glad you got the new computer up and goin' and even saved some stuff. Woohoo!!!
I had a computer totally crash about three years ago that I used here at home for businesses and to dispatch hubby. I asked my son the geek if he'd help me get the new one all set up for business. For heavens sake...that's what he does. Has his own shop and everything and he tells me..."just plug it in a go MoM." Well, two days later I was up and goin'. Heeehehehe!
You have the best day sweetie!!!
Joyce we have missed you!! Glad you are back and that you now have a new computer! Love the picture of the two Joyce's you look great! Such a lovely place Hilton Head and I'm looking forward to you sharing more photos with us.

We've been down to Myrtle Beach a few times which is really nice, well the very north end of it. Not into all the craziness in the middle! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce
ReplyDeleteIn January I went through a computer crash and having to get a new lap top and transferring all I could save over to it, so I know what you went through. Now I back "up more" my info carefully.

Hi Joyce
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I have some sad news about Rosie from Baking Cakes Galore, Rosie passed away yesterday. I have written up a tribute to her on my blog and I am asking everyone who knew her if they would please take some time to leave a comment. I will be printing off all the comments to pass onto her husband.
Thanks

ReplyDeleteI had a very good friend Anne for sixteen years. When we are together, she is Anne with E, and I am Ann without an E. At work now, it is the same, they will say Ann without an E. I suppose you can say Joyce and the initial of your surname.
