Foodie Friday... Grilled Cobia Fish...

This week I wrote about buying local fish here on Hilton Head Island, S.C. HERE. I returned to the fish market and purchased a pound of Cobia fish which served three adults.

I grilled the Cobia and we agreed that the Cobia was meaty and delicious and had a nice mild flavor. It is not a flaky fish like Talapia, I would definitely purchase Cobia again when it is in season. Ask your local fish market if they carry Cobia and try it. You will not be disappointed.

Recipe can be found HERE.

  1. now I am hoping I can try this fish, not a huge fan of tilapia so its difference is a good thing to me ...

  2. From the picture I thought is Cod fish and I don't think I had seen a Cobia before. Looks good!

  3. Living in landlocked Nebraska, I doubt I'd ever find this fish. I'll have to remember it next time we travel to more coastal destinations. It looks wonderful :)

  4. I've never had cobia before. Sounds good!

Thanks for stopping by today! I actually got the recipe on the internet, but I do love the cake mix doctor. Not too long ago, I posted a similar recipe in chocolate from her book. So far every one of her recipes that I've tried have turned out wonderful! I was actually in Walmart the other day and saw that she has a new book out too. (I'm sure it will be a future purchase!)

  5. Looks delish, I grilled some blackened tilapia the other night. MMmmmmm. I'm tryin' to get around to reading the blogs....I've been sick and pretty out of it for weeks.

God bless and have a wonderful weekend!!!

  6. This fish looks so fabulous. I'm glad for your excellent recommendation and recipe. Thanks for sharing it and I love your soldier too!

  8. That fish sounds delicious! I have never been to Hilton Head...sounds like a wonderful place.

Thanks for the kind words and hugs. It's nice to know I am not alone.

  9. Me wonders if they sell this at Whole Foods....I love fish! Just got back from Marco Island where Grouper was selling close to the price of gold! Geezzz

  10. Hi! So nice to "meet" you - thank you for visiting my blog. I have already learned something since I was not familiar with Cobia; looks yummy! I will definately be back since I am not much of a cook married to a nice Italian guy!

  11. Wow. When I first seen your pic, I thought it was a thick cut of a chicken breast. I never heard of Cobia fish. It sort of does look like chicken. Any how, it looks really good how you prepared it. It's been awhile since I visited your blog for I haven't been doing much blogging lately. But I'm slowly getting back into it again and trying to post more often.
